Don’t look now, but Nintendo is having issues keeping Wii’s on the shelves again. Probably just a passing fad. Or sneaky Nintendo is manufacturing a shortage. Or something. Just read the comments on articles like this one to get the delusional picture. Hint: Adam Coate.
That Adam guy is off his rocker. Nintendo killed Gunpei Yokoi? What a nut.
Concerning Adam Coate: I love how he states that Nintendo’s business practices are dubious; but completely (and conviently) ignores Sony and Microsoft’s business practices which many experts who study those companies consider much more dubious. I guess he forgot that Microsoft is considered a convicted criminal in many countries.
Never mind that in the Gamecube era; Nintendo released shipments with reckless abandon and they ended up having to stop production midway through the console’s life because there were too many systems sitting on store shelves as much fewer people were buying the system compared to Wii. That fact was a sign that Gamecube was not going to be the system that turned Nintendo around. This is Nintendo trying to gauge demand as they do want a good supply of machines; but they need to be careful in gauging demand. Sometimes you completely underestimate the non-customer; it happens.
@herogear: I smell viral marketer; not a nut. A real nut would be writing with randomized capitals, and misspelling out of the wazoo. Then again; Adam is probably one of those “I hate all risk” guys too. How else would he create conspiracy theories like this.
As for Adam “accusation” of Nintendo killing Gumpei: You make an extraordinary claim Adam; where’s the extraordinary evidence? If you don’t have any; then you are a vile piece of shit. I betcha Adam believes the meme that Nintendo creates systems for kids so that old men could lure children in and rape them too.
I said this on Malstrom’s blog before he locked all comments: This is what the hardcore breeds: Completely immune to irony. And these virals are the breeders.
