  1. No love for eight? Hmm. Even that title, heavy on new play mechanics and maybe even a bit heavy handed in terms of visuals and story, lasted longer in the public record than the supreme, colossal failure known as Final Fantasy XIII: Play the Entire Game in a Straight Line.

  2. Final Fantasy VIII was the second highest Final Fantasy seller in Japan to VII. So there was clearly more love for that title than IX or even X.

Kind of makes Final Fantasy X-2 look good doesn’t it? Despite being a side story with sexed up females fighting; it was more non-linear and more interesting. Still a bloated mess; but at least you could control the game more than XII and XII could. And FF 13 will be lucky to even make it to two million units in Japan.

We should stop with this oddysey of logic and statistics and the quest for reasonableness and finally accept the core imperical fact. The existing major third parties will never ever ever in a hundred trillion years seriously support a Nintendo platform. They’d rather die, many are and most will. I’d worry that Nintendo needs them for the next generation but then I remember that Nintendo survived two consoles and a handheld singlehanded, and saved an industry from sales ruin for a third console and second handheld in the face of spit and spite from the collective industry. – Elmer from Infendo

In other words; they are like the folks at WorldNetDaily and other bigots who without the internet would be nothing more than a shout in the wind. I wonder if we will see some really sick meltdowns from them when their business goes belly up soon?
