Yup, Nintendo’s next big console is the 3DS. And with good reason.
And sorry, but they are most definitely competing. Not as traditional “game consoles,” no, but as time sinks. Only 24 hours in a day, and all that.

It’d be really great if the 3DS didn’t follow the lead of what’s currently happening in the 3D space and decided not to put out games that feature cliche items flying at or pointing at the viewer from the inside the screen.
Goes for third parties too, although these Capcom screens (while really sharp) aren’t too encouraging.
Elephants, rooms
Video games took a hit this summer. Instead of addressing the fact that all the big titles feature male protagonists firing guns into meat shields without much personality or emotion driving their actions, Michael Pachter blames…console prices.
But hey, Halo Reach is coming tomorrow. Should fix everything.
