End of the road

So you’re telling me that

  • a bloated, delayed and generally unwanted Final Fantasy MMO
  • turning one of the greatest RPG franchises in history, Final Fantasy, into a linear interactive movie where you don’t even control half your party
  • and turning your already Japanese culture-heavy games into things not even the Japanese want to play

leads to a 90% reduction in your profit forecasts?

Color me baffled as to how this came to be.

Neanderthals

I’ll never understand how or why some gamers can get so worked up about an upcoming game when all that’s available are 15 total seconds of scripted game play and pre-rendered cutscene footage that will without a doubt not be included in the actual game.

I mean, for fuck’s sake–most of the shit in this “trailer” is of real, live actors!

With the big spenders are so easily pleased and distracted by flashing lights, no wonder there’s no real innovation taking place in game design outside of the peripherals!
