The public’s reaction to stories like these always amuses me. It’s as if people think game consoles are conjured up in a matter of days and released upon the world in an afternoon, as opposed to the reality, which is that hardware manufacturers are always developing their next gen console. It starts the day they release the current one.
You’d think people would have come to realize this by now since Sony and Nintendo have spoken about their future consoles in development prior to upcoming round of consoles even releasing yet.
Sony especially did a lot of talk about what would become the PS3 even before the PS2 was launched. Nintendo stated a few facts about their next console before the Wii even launched.
But I guess people like to think the engineers, programmers, designers, etc…all go on a 5 year vacation between consoles.
