Sony Considering 3DS-Like 3D Slider for PS3

Remember when Sony actually created things?

[Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption] has become the US’s best-selling game of 2010 so far, according to new NPD figures.

You could take GamesIndustry’s lead paragraph in this article on game sales, replace the top seller with the term “blockbuster Xbox 360 game released this month” and it would look the same as it has for the past four years.

Mainly, one game for PS3/Xbox 360, and the rest are all Nintendo console titles. Powerful stuff.

How any video game exec, developer, analyst pundit or whatever Pachter pretends he is can talk shit about, or condescend to, or “advise” Nintendo on the “right thing to do” in this day and age, is beyond me. Facts, they are a fickle bitch when one’s apparent job is to try and promote Nintendo’s competitors, aren’t they?

I guess 2011 is the year Nintendo is going to fail now?

No snark necessary. Kinect games are listed at $60 at Walmart, with a bundle weighing in at $200. Want Kinect by itself and a game? Shell out $230.

Nintendo is struggling to define how it will market a new portable, in this case the wildly well-received 3DS, to a market that cannot see the 3D effects on their TV, computer or mobile screens.

More lies and broken promises: Many of the retro-fitted Xbox 360 games demo’d by Microsoft in 2009 will mysteriously not work with the retail version of Kinect due out later this year.

From this point forth, let all serial exaggerators and outright liars in the video games space be known for “pulling a Molyneux” when they do what they do best.

Just watch Jimmy Fallon’s reaction when he sees what the 3DS can do for the first time. VERY much like what I saw people do the moment they “got” Wii Sports.

Is the 3DS, a portable, actually Nintendo’s next console? No, not as in the next Wii will have 3D. As in, this is where they will be putting the lion’s share of their marketing and development budgets for the next 5 years?

Yeesh. The dissonance between what Miscrosoft and Sony say about their new accessories and what major publishers are saying is quite striking indeed.
