It’s really too bad that gaming is still perceived as being the realm of little boys and man children. Then again, with this and this being the marquis titles that the gaming press get their rocks off over, are we really surprised?
How ironic that the idea of “good enough”—which had been so lucrative for Nintendo with the DS and Wii—will ultimately be the company’s undoing. At least in the portable market.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata told everyone he was unconcerned with the iPhone (and smartphones in general) in regards to how they might affect Nintendo’s portable sales and that appears to be completely untrue. Weird.

Remember when Capcom didn’t really hit its numbers last year? This new “feature” in Resident Evil for the 3DS—you know, the one that basically says F.U. to the secondhand market—will surely correct that whole mess. Surely.
Kotaku asks a good question: Is the upcoming touch-tastic PlayStation Vita different enough from its fore-bearer to be successful? Also, what of the competition from iOS devices? The article doesn’t mention those, but their impact is no longer up for debate.
Wii U could have been handheld; was in development the moment GameCube 2.0 went out the door.
